Meet Your Instructor
I’m a high school business teacher and former administrator who inherited a successful merchandise operation within my own school. I started without apparel-industry experience—just a desire create opportunity for students and generate additional resources for our school. Through plenty of trial and error and utilizing my predecessor's processes, we developed a system that works in a real school setting. Our operation produces apparel for athletic teams, clubs, staff, community organizations, and local businesses while generating meaningful profit for our program. I created this course to share the process I wish I’d had when I started. It covers the equipment, suppliers, pricing, production, marketing, and order-management systems we use every day—along with the mistakes and lessons that helped us improve. My goal is to give you a practical, repeatable plan that a staff member or supervised group of students can use to build a merchandise operation of their own. No apparel experience required—just a willingness to follow the process and get started.
